Christina Fojas’ hiring as Underwriting Counsel will deliver more value to agents

Longmont, CO — (May 14, 2026) — ��Թ�, the title insurer that is uniquely responsive to the needs of independent agents, has made a key new hire. Christina Fojas has joined the underwriter as Underwriting Counsel for Texas.

With Fojas’ hiring, ��Թ�’s agents will gain additional support in navigating an ever-changing market. She will work closely with the rest of ��Թ�’s underwriting team to help agents keep real estate transactions moving, while reducing unnecessary friction and risk. Her legal expertise and comprehensive understanding of the Texas title and real estate industries will be enormously beneficial for agents going forward.

Fojas began building this expertise nearly 15 years ago when she started practicing law in Texas. Her professional career since then has focused on commercial real estate, retirement accounts and private lending. She has acted as an ad litem to represent the interests of unknown heirs and worked closely with Texas title companies on behalf of lenders. Additionally, she has managed complex real estate transactions from start through post-closing, with title experience in Texas as well as in Tennessee. Collectively, her career has given her practical, real-world insight into title workflows, along with a strong emphasis on communication, empathy and collaboration.

At ��Թ�, Fojas will work closely with other underwriters to assess risk and determine the insurability of real property. She will also play an essential role in agent education, preparing educational and underwriting materials to help agencies close more business, operate more effectively and stay compliant. One of her other top priorities will be providing excellent customer service, so when a transaction issue arises, agents can trust ��Թ� to help them find a solution.

Fojas earned her Juris Doctor from South Texas College of Law Houston and holds a B.A. in Communication and Philosophy. She is a certified attorney ad litem in Texas and a member of the Texas Land Title Association, and she participates in the Tennessee Land Title Association through ��Թ�’s team membership.

A dedicated advocate for animals, Fojas previously served as president of the Animal Law Society in law school and has long supported rescue efforts through fostering. In addition to her legal background, she is a certified yoga instructor.

Fojas currently resides in Tennessee.

The underwriter adds Lesley Robertson as Senior Underwriting Counsel—further strengthening its team

Longmont, CO — (May 5, 2026) — ��Թ�, the title insurer that is uniquely responsive to the needs of independent agents, is pleased to announce that it has hired Lesley Robertson as its new Senior Underwriting Counsel, Southeast Region.

Robertson’s hiring marks a significant investment in the underwriter’s policy-issuing agents throughout the southeastern United States. She will chiefly assist with underwriting needs in Georgia, while also supporting requests across Alabama, Mississippi, Tennessee, North Carolina and South Carolina. Her presence will be a game-changer for agents in this region. They will soon find they can address complex title issues and achieve strong underwriting outcomes more efficiently than ever before.

Robertson’s nearly three decades of experience make her well suited to help agents take their title operations to the next level. She previously worked as a closing attorney for 28 years, where she developed expertise in title examination, including a strong grasp of estate planning, probate, bankruptcy, foreclosure and litigation issues. Her extensive and varied skill set will be immensely valuable for ��Թ�’s agents, who can leverage her knowledge to drive significant and lasting growth.

Robertson earned her Juris Doctor from Loyola University New Orleans College of Law, where she graduated with honors. She also holds a B.A. in Law and Society from the University of California, Santa Barbara. She is also a member of the Georgia Real Property Law Section and an affiliate of the Georgia Real Estate Closing Attorneys Association.

Robertson and her family reside in the Atlanta metropolitan area.

��Թ� Adds Gerry Simon as VP, Senior Underwriting Counsel

Simon’s experience and talent will help agents deftly navigate complex transactions

Longmont, CO — (April 29, 2026) — ��Թ�, the title insurer that is uniquely responsive to the needs of independent agents, has hired Gerry Simon as VP, Senior Underwriting Counsel for the Great Lakes Region.

Simon’s experience in the title insurance industry spans more than three decades. He has worked for a variety of agencies and underwriters, handling everything from closings to claims. In his most recent role prior to joining ��Թ�, Simon worked for a national underwriter and provided underwriting support to the company’s agents throughout the Mid-Atlantic and Mid-Western regions of the U.S.

Simon will have similar responsibilities in his new position with ��Թ�. His primary goal will be to offer seamless underwriting support and education for the underwriter’s valued agents in the region. He will focus on applying sound underwriting principles and creative approaches to help agents navigate complex transactions and achieve the best possible outcomes for their clients.

In addition to his career responsibilities, Simon is a reliable pillar of the title insurance community. He has been a member of the rating bureaus of Pennsylvania, Ohio, Delaware and New Jersey and currently holds membership in the Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Illinois and Ohio land title associations. He previously served on the executive committee of the Pennsylvania Land Title Association.

Simon is a graduate of Penn State University and the University of Alabama Medical Center Physician Assistant Program. He received his Juris Doctor from the Duquesne University Law School and was a published member of the Duquesne Law Review.

He lives in Pennsylvania with his family.

The underwriter is pleased to welcome Jill Anderson Blanco as its new Senior Underwriting Counsel in Florida.

Longmont, CO — (Feb. 23, 2026) — ��Թ�, the title insurer that is uniquely responsive to the needs of independent agents, has hired Jill Anderson Blanco as Senior Underwriting Counsel, Florida.

For 14 years, Anderson Blanco served as Senior Vice President at a national title and settlement services provider. In this role, she handled complex national commercial title work across multiple states, including high-value multifamily transactions.

Prior to this position, she was Director, Senior Attorney Real Estate for a global fast-food company. She oversaw real estate and legal matters for approximately 700 restaurants, negotiated contracts, supervised environmental remediation, managed complex real estate and construction litigation, and negotiated business-critical leases.

As Senior Underwriting Counsel, Anderson Blanco will provide underwriting guidance to ��Թ�’s Florida agent network, develop educational programs, and support agents navigating complex title issues.

Currently, she serves as an adjunct professor at the university and teaches as part of the Title Insurance in the Real Property Development LL.M Program.

Longmont, Colo. – (January 22, 2026) – ��Թ�, the title insurer that is uniquely responsive to the needs of independent agents, announces the promotion of Valerie Grandin to the position of Chief Underwriting Counsel.

Grandin’s promotion builds on the successful legacy of Jeff Stein, who served as Chief Underwriting Counsel from 2020 until his retirement in 2025. She has been a part of ��Թ�’s underwriting team since 2024, when she joined the organization as Vice President, Senior Underwriting Counsel. Since then, Grandin has helped oversee the company’s education, business development, and underwriting operations throughout the Florida market. Grandin brings broad experience, having served as Chief Underwriting Counsel for another mid-cap underwriter for the 10 years preceding her tenure at ��Թ�.

In her new role, Grandin’s focus will shift to supporting ��Թ�’s network of policy-issuing agents across the country. She will also be responsible for leading the company’s entire underwriting team. One of her top priorities will be strengthening the team’s cohesiveness so agents receive the full benefit of ��Թ�’s collective expertise—regardless of location or underwriting needs.

A 20-year veteran of the industry, Dunn has significant experience in underwriting transactions, commercial closings, title insurance and litigation. She began her career working for multiple national underwriters, where she implemented a statewide education and licensing system for title examiners and escrow officers. In addition, Dunn taught classes to title agents, to help them build stronger relationships with real estate brokers. She also handled commercial underwriting for the Mid-Atlantic states, updated endorsements, developed internal guidelines, and collaborated with sales teams to drive business growth. More recently, Dunn has been working in private practice, specializing in real estate transactions.

At ��Թ�, Dunn will have the opportunity to apply her passion for real estate and prodigious industry knowledge on an everyday basis. She looks forward to helping the underwriter’s network of agents throughout Colorado, Utah, Nevada and Arizona—helping them solve complex title issues, exceed customers’ expectations, and achieve both short- and long-term goals.

Dunn is also a member of the real estate section of the Colorado Bar Association and is a member of CREW (Commercial Real Estate Women). In the latter role, she acts as a mentor to other professionals interested in changing or growing their career path. Dunn received her Bachelor of Arts and her Juris Doctor from the University of Denver and is licensed to practice law in both Virginia and Colorado.

A longtime Colorado resident, Dunn lives in the Denver area.

Hansen brings extensive experience to ��Թ�, having kickstarted her career handling title claims for eight years at a national underwriter before becoming National Commercial Underwriting Counsel. More recently, she held the role of Senior Underwriting Counsel for a national underwriter and later Senior Product Underwriting Counsel, where she acted as a title insurance expert for the underwriter’s technology team.

With nearly three decades “in the trenches” as a title agent, Lori will apply her expertise to empower the underwriter’s independent agents throughout Florida.

Longmont, CO — (March 21, 2025) — ��Թ�, the title insurer that is uniquely responsive to the needs of independent agents, is pleased to announce that it has hired Lori Ellen Ward as Underwriting Counsel – Florida Region.

Lori brings a long history of success in the legal, title insurance, and real estate industries. After graduating law school, she began her career in general practice but quickly transitioned to representing real estate clients. She worked for several Florida Panhandle law firms, including her own, building specialized expertise in the real estate development process, including acquisitions, complex finance transactions, business formation and construction.

In 2009, she started her own title insurance agency, providing clients with comprehensive closing services in sales, refinances, reverse mortgages, short sales, and more. Immediately prior to joining the ��Թ� team, Ward served as general counsel for a real estate developer while continuing to operate her independent title agency. Throughout her career, Ward has applied her industry knowledge, expertise and collaborative approach to drive business growth and success. She excels at building trusting, dynamic relationships with clients, and is passionate about advocating for their interests while ensuring title accuracy.

��Թ� Hires Ryan Martinez As Vice President, Southeast Regional Underwriting Counsel

Longmont, CO — (October 22, 2024) — ��Թ�, the title insurer that is uniquely responsive to the needs of independent agents, is pleased to announce the hiring of Ryan Martinez as Vice President, Southeast Regional Underwriting Counsel.

Martinez is a highly skilled legal professional with significant experience in real estate and title insurance. He got his start as a foreclosure and title attorney in Atlanta. He then worked as both an associate litigation and a closing attorney, where he handled residential and commercial transactions. Later, he was a supervising attorney for title and REO operations at a creditor’s rights firm. He most recently served as an underwriting counsel for a national underwriter.

Martinez will have a variety of responsibilities in his new role at ��Թ�. He will primarily focus on handling underwriting requests from policy-issuing agents in the region. This will involve offering his advice on underwriting matters while also ensuring compliance with applicable regulations.

Outside of his work, Martinez is highly active in the title community. He is currently a member of the Tennessee Land Title Association (TLTA), where he serves as Education Committee Chair. He also holds membership in the North Carolina Land Title Association (NCLTA) and the Southeast Land Title Association (SLTA), and is a member of the Bar in Georgia, Tennessee and North Carolina.

Martinez obtained his undergraduate education at the Georgia Institute of Technology and received his Juris Doctor from the Florida Coastal School of Law.

Valerie Grandin Joins ��Թ� as VP, Senior Underwriting Counsel Florida

Longmont, CO — (October 16, 2024) — ��Թ�, the title insurer that is uniquely responsive to the needs of independent agents, is excited to announce that it has hired Valerie Grandin as Vice President, Senior Underwriting Counsel Florida.

Grandin brings with her a wealth of experience in title insurance, real estate, management and business strategy. She comes to ��Թ� from a national underwriter, where she oversaw strategic initiatives, served as the primary point of contact for lender agreements, created agent and counsel training programs and coordinated regulatory compliance projects. In addition, she helped agents expand their capabilities and grow their businesses, while also leading continuing education programs for underwriters and examiners.

In her new role as Vice President, Senior Underwriting Counsel Florida, Grandin will have a full slate of responsibilities. Chief among them will be to develop educational programming and partner with ��Թ�’s Florida agents to increase their market share through unique business development strategies and product offerings.

Grandin is an active member of the American Land Title Association (ALTA). She is also a member of the Florida Land Title Association (FLTA), where she serves on the Government Affairs committee, which is currently working on the new 2025 FinCEN rule. In addition, she sits on the Advisory Board of the University of Miami School of Law LLM in Real Property Development. As the only underwriting counsel on the board, she has a front row seat to the most cutting-edge changes and developments in the Florida commercial real estate market.

She received her Juris Doctorate from the University of Miami School of Law.
